Photojournalism Singles

On November 4, 2008 the election results revealed that Barack Obama was to be the US’s next president.  Students at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio mobbed through the streets cheering and gatheredtogether in Buffalo Wild Wings to watch Obama’s acceptance speech.

 Protesters at a rally against Proposition 8 in Columbus, Ohio give their response to passing cars and overlooking police. 
 The image of a demolished building in Dayton, Ohio contrasted against the serene, clean background of a clouded sky represents juxtaposition and the rule of thirds to balance the photo.

 Ohio University Sophomore, Ryan Womack of Reynoldsburg, Ohio screams the lyrics to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" Saturday night, September 12th on the stage of Casa Cantina in Athens, Ohio.  Womack serves as Male Co-Chair of Open Doors, a student organization and LGBT group on campus, which holds monthly dances at Casa to raise money. 

A man who addresses himself by the words that are tattooed on his face, “Start Loving,” sits outside the White House in Washington DC, peacefully protesting nuclear war.  Loving, originally from New Jersey, now spends his days “working” outside of the White House, holding peace vigils to try and spread the dangers of nuclear weapons to tourists and passersby in hopes of preventing nuclear war.  The peace vigils have have been held for about twenty years, in which Loving and his comrades have been arrested over fifty times for peacefully squatting outside of the White House.
Sister Elizabeth Armstrong of Miami, Florida stands on Union Street facing College Green at Ohio University on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 preaching verses from "The Bible" to the students of OU.  Armstrong and her husband, Brother Micah Armstrong travel across the country to different universities to spread the ways of Armenian Born Again Christianity to college students, because their intent is to sway students away from the supposed sinful college lifestyle.
